Halloween Fun
I have quite a few festivities in October….family birthdays and an anniversary, the local Maple Leaf Days and this year a nephew’s wedding and the arrival of a new grandbaby. And I have another celebration that has become a much anticipated yearly event…my grandson Dayan’s Annual Halloween Party.
This 9 year old boy really knows how to throw a party! And he has a gracious mom who really knows how to allow a child to be creative and have fun, giving him the freedom to go all out on
entertaining! Together they transform their gorgeous home into a scary and delightful “haunted house” with a mix of eerie and whimsical decorations. Dayan has been hosting this party since he was five years old….and each year it gets a little bigger and a little more elaborate! Costumes are a must! If you come to the party, you have to show up in costume. Being a gracious person himself, he allowed me to “cheat” one year and come as a Realtor….but I was told quite firmly that that particular non-costume wouldn’t be allowed again! That’s part of the fun…seeing what each guest comes up with and how clever and creative they can be.
Dayan’s party really marks the beginning of the holiday season for me. His spirit of joy and fun and adventure speaks deeply to my heart, and reminds me of all that is good in my life…and all that I have to look forward to!
Warmly,
Cindy
